Venkataraman graduated from RV College of Engineering in the Year 1988. He started his career in his family construction business, Visveswaran & Co in 1988. After a stint of 14 years in the family business, Venkataraman moved over to Reliance Industries and was instrumental in setting up Telecom Infrastructure and Retail Outlets all across Tamil Nadu.
Venkataraman joined UGL Equis, a US Based International Property Consultancy Firm in 2006 to head the Project Management Division at Chennai, India. He has to his credit more than 2 million sft of construction and fit Out space for some of the leading MNCs and Indian Players; ABB, Athena, Citi Bank, DivyaSree, IBM Global, ICICI, ISRO, Standard Chartered Bank, Value Source, Xansa etc to name a few…
He then moved on to Knight Frank India Pvt Ltd, an International Property Consultancy Firm, managing the Project Management Operations and actively involved in the Transaction Advisory Business of the Chennai Region. He was also the Key Accounts Manager for all Pan India Projects of Large Corporates like HSBC, Google, Coca Cola etc for the Project Management Vertical. He was the Key Point of Contact for all of Knight Frank India’s International Pitches for the Project Management Vertical.
Venkat’s focus on client servicing and project delivery has helped him win repeat projects and retain Clients. He has advised various multi-national companies on growth strategies, structuring of contracts and procurement, project phasing and execution. He specializes in handling of Client Relations and has been able to expand business in the realm of EPC Projects and Project Management, during his stint in Knight Frank. His understanding of real estate and execution has enabled him to advise clients and drive projects.

Venkataraman joined Reliance Engineering Associate Ltd, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd in 2002 at Chennai, India. The company was established by RIL as an EPC Company to execute all the in-house projects of their company
Venkataraman was the Project Coordinator for the Procurement, Fabrication, Galvanizing, and logistics of the Infocomm BTS Towers Project. Independently managed and succeeded in the high pressure, time bound project. Personally managed all activities right from sourcing of steel till logistics management for delivery of 340 BTS Towers ranging from 6 Mtrs to 60 Mtrs to 340 locations across 3 states. Coordinated with 8 raw material vendors, 10 fabrication vendors and 6 galvanization vendors to procure, fabricate and galvanize around 3400–4000 pieces required for each of the towers.
Venkataraman was the Project Coordinator for Pre-construction activities of 30 Retail Outlets across Tamil Nadu and their construction coordination was the core of this project. The project involved land validation, viability assessment, appointment of agencies for surveying and soil investigation as well as obtaining NOC from Highways Department, Explosives Department and District Magistrate.
Venkataraman joined UGL Equis in 2006 to head the Project Services department at Chennai, India. UGL Equis is a multidisciplinary corporate real estate services firm that delivers integrated services exclusively to business space users. UGL Equis is a part of UGL Group, Australia. Founded in 1984, UGL Equis provides global strategic real estate consulting and transaction advisory expertise to clients from 24 locations in the US, India & 12 countries around the globe.
Venkataraman has been responsible for Project Services department across all projects in Tamil Nadu. With his vast and varied experience and leadership capabilities, he has been able to obtain the optimum results for the various stake holders.
The total portfolio of works executed totaled to more than 1 million Sq Ft of Office Fit Out. Key Highlights during this stint were Upgradation of Citi Bank Data Centre and Data Centre for IBM Nortel Labs

Venkataraman Joined Knight Frank February 2015 to head the Project Management Vertical for Tamil Nadu and Kerala regions. Venkat’s focus on Business Strategy and Grooming & and Mentoring of the team helped in outstanding success and growth of the region. His focus on client servicing and project delivery has helped him win repeat projects and retain Clients.
His understanding of real estate and execution enabled him to advise clients and drive projects. He lead teams that executed projects in Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Educational Institutions, Industrial, Infrastructure and corporate fit-outs of varied sizes.

In 2020, Venkat moved on to overseeing Key Client Relationship across the Country. Venkat was also the Key Point of Contact for Knight Frank India for all of Knight Frank’s International Pitches in the realm of Project Management. Venkat also took on the Additional Responsibility of Real Estate Transaction Advisory.
